“OPEN YOUR GAZE” - THE INNER SMILE
The exercise I wish to share with you today is designed to “awaken” and align your face, the back of your head and your neck. As you are actively lifting, stretching and mobilizing the muscle groups connected to the area around your eyes, temples, cheekbones, your mandible, and the corners of your mouth, you experience the transformative power of your “inner smile”.

Place your fingertips on your temples (right above your cheekbones) and gently pulsate back and up. Your gaze is relaxed and open…
…After approx. 30 impulses you rest…then place your fingertips under your cheekbones and pulsate back and up…
…After approx. 30 impulses you rest again…then place your fingertips on and under your mandibular joint and pulsate back and up…
…After another short rest, you spread your fingers, place your fingertips (I use my ring finger, middle and index finger) on your temples, cheekbones and mandible, surrender your face to your hands, and gently pulsate back and up. Your gaze is relaxed and open…
After another short rest you perform the “inner face-lift” without manual help. Can you feel the gentle lifting and opening of your entire face...the tingling sensation on your skin...can you feel the movement extending all the way to the back/base of your head and your neck...?
Once you are in this "kinesthetically lucid" state, recite your favorite poem or piece of lyric. Can you hear a difference in the timbre of your voice?
You’ll be amazed how “smiling from the inside” will affect both the way you feel, and the way you project out into the world.
Make it a habit to open your gaze before singing.
And the next time you put on your mask, remember this exercise. Shopping in times of Corona has proven to be a great opportunity for practicing.
Be safe and well...and share your inner smile every chance you get.
Namasté, Love and Light from me to you.
